Working Draft continuously tries to find new ways to tell stories. This year, we were happy to run our first-ever Working Draft comic caption contest.

Working Draft contributor and artist Emma Honeybun created two single-panel comics based on this issue’s theme of “nature.”

Tasked with giving us their best one-sentence caption, our readers had dozens of great takes. With such diverse responses, it was challenging to pick a winning caption. So we didn’t!

The two winning captions were selected based on getting the most engagement from our followers.

Here are the 2023 Working Draft Comic caption contest winners:
